“We’re in the Christmas Mood” Dessert Concert | December 11, 2022

John L. Monilaws, Valley City, will strike up the Band as Maestro of the “We’re in the Christmas Mood” show, which will be performed in the gym at the Nome Schoolhouse on Sunday, Dec. 11th at 2:00 pm.

        The “We’re in the Christmas Mood” show features an 18-piece Big Band Orchestra and several vocal ensembles and solo performers throughout the afternoon. “The show is one of my favorite things to put together; there is nothing more beautiful than the wonderful sounds of Christmas” states Monilaws.  The audience will have comfortable seats and be treated to a “Branson style show” according to Monilaws.   

Delicious homemade Lemon Curd Pavlova will be served during the event.

All proceeds go to the Nome Eweniversity. The Nome Eweniversity is recognized as a nonprofit organization per IRS code 501(c)(3)

The show is Sunday, December 11th at 2:00 pm.   Doors will open at 1:30 pm.

John L. Monilaws, Valley City, will strike up the Band as Maestro of the “We’re in the Christmas Mood” show, which will be performed in the gym at the Nome Schoolhouse on Sunday, Dec. 11th at 2:00 pm.

 Monilaws is retired from a 30 year career of teaching music. The last 16 years of Monilaws career were spent as Maestro of the high school music Department for the Lisbon Public School.  Under his direction the Lisbon High School Band was named the North Dakota Governor’s Band in 2006. Monilaws guided his Music Department to performances at Disneyland, Vander Cook School of Music in Chicago, Rutgers University in New Jersey, Vanderbuilt University in Nashville, and Seton Hall University also in New Jersey.

   Local performers include David Piper and Cassie Bastian, Casselton, Randy Hajek, Davenport, Cheryl Rostad, Kindred, Tanner Monilaws and Natalie Monilaws, whom have ties to the Absaraka area, SueAnn Berntson, Buffalo,  Kyra Haecherl, Lisbon, and Jill and Racheal Bergstedt, Enderlin.
