Our Story
Preserving History & Inspiring Creativity
The Nome Schoolhouse, built in 1916, was a cornerstone of education and community in Nome, North Dakota, for over five decades until it closed in 1970. When we, Teresa Perleberg and Chris Armbrust, first saw the old building, we were struck by its potential and the rich history it held within its walls. We knew we had to save it. After years of dedication and hard work, we lovingly restored the schoolhouse and reopened it in 2021 as a fiber arts retreat center, event space, and boutique hotel. By preserving this piece of history, we’ve given it new life, and we’re excited to share it with you as a place of creativity, community, and inspiration.
