Take a Tour Through
History’s Stories, Current Creations,
& Future Dreams

Are You Ready To Be Nome-Schooled?

Schoolhouse Tour – Enjoy a Guided Tour through the halls and rooms of the Nome Schoolhouse. Built in 1916. Decommissioned in 1970. Reborn July 1st, 2021 as a place of creating, gathering and celebrating.

This one hour tour will take you through the historic 1916 Nome Schoolhouse. You will hear stories of the schoolhouse, see its charm, the amazing measures used to preserve it, and hear how we use the spaces today.

Fiber Mill Tour – Did you know that we have a fiber mill in our basement?
This 45 min tour will take you through the working Fiber Mill that processes our wool and creates our Shepherd Industries fiber products right here in the lower level of the Nome Schoolhouse. Our love for fiber art, industry, and agriculture will be evident during your time in the mill.

With Teresa’s flock of sheep being raised 20 minutes from Nome and with Chris’ expertise running the fiber mill, and the products sold and shipped right here at the schoolhouse – this unique Fibershed & Vertical Wool Operation is a unique tour experience through our mill an intriguing experience for everyone.

Combo Tour – Enjoy the best of both tours in this 1.5 hour guided tour.
