About the Chef –

We want to introduce you to our executive chef here at the Nome Schoolhouse, Elizabeth Perleberg. Libbie is self taught and has been cooking for as long as she can remember. She believes in making everything she can from scratch, a philosophy that was cemented during the years she worked for the Lunchbox in Fort Ransom, and the Lunchbox bakery in Lisbon. Her style of cooking is heavily influenced by good old midwestern meat and potatoes with quite a bit of Italian influence and the occasional traditional German or Norwegian dish thrown in for flavor.

About Nancy Gilbertson –

I was raised on a farm between Nome and Kathryn, and attended Nome Public School, graduating from Enderlin in 1971. I left the cold and snow for sunnier climes and eventually received a wildlife biology degree from New Mexico State University. For the next thirty years, I worked as a refuge manager on a variety of national wildlife refuges throughout the west, retiring from the Fish and Wildlife Service after 30 years in 2010. Sooo, my next life took me and my husband, Tom, (my music accompanist) to Arizona. I found a renewed interest in singing and, yes, even acting and dancing of sorts, in our Sun City Oro Valley community where I now perform just for fun. I am fond of jazz and pop songs from the 40s, 50s, and 60s with some Broadway tunes thrown in, and who knows what else!

The event is on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at the newly renovated Nome Schoolhouse. Everyone is welcome, but space is limited and meals are available by ticket purchase only. The meal includes 5 courses and 2 drink tickets.  (Menu “as is” no substitutions allowed). Doors open at 6 pm, guests are welcome to come early, tour the school and enjoy refreshments served at the bar. Guests will be seated for the meal promptly at 7pm.

We will have limited space available so please get your tickets early and we request advanced notice if you must cancel your reservation so we can make room for other guests on our waiting list. Thank You!
