How It Began

The Nome Schoolhouse, built in 1916, was a cornerstone of education and community in Nome, North Dakota, for over five decades until it closed in 1970. When Teresa Perleberg and Chris Armbrust first saw the old building, they were struck by its potential and the rich history it held within its walls. They knew they had to save it. After years of dedication and hard work, they lovingly restored the schoolhouse and reopened it in 2021 as a fiber arts retreat center, event space, and boutique hotel. By preserving this piece of history, they’ve given it new life, and are excited to share it with you as a place of creativity, community, and inspiration.

Thank you for booking and supporting our historic 100 year old renovated Schoolhouse. As a small business we greatly appreciate your support!

We do not have 24/7 staff, but put great effort into having someone available to answer calls/texts/emails around the clock as well as have someone available to come and provide assistance if needed. We almost always have staff in the building from 9am-4pm Mon-Fri. We have staff here until at least 8pm on Tuesday and Thursday as our restaurant is opening for dining those evenings.
