Taste of Fiber Retreat
Nome Schoolhouse is a non-profit organization that connects shepherds, fiber, fiber arts enthusiasts and fiber artists through direct educational offerings while preserving a historic building and growing rural community. We provide a unique space for Makers of all kinds with space for crafting, in house chef and 11 guestrooms.
Popular Tours and Classes
The Nome Schoolhouse is home to a Fiber Processing Mill where we turn raw wool into roving, yarn and felt. We provide tours so you can learn about all the steps wool goes through from animal to finished product.

We teach classes on needle felting, handspinning, dyeing, knitting, weaving, preparing fleece for the mill, raising fiber animals and more. Plus we bring in craft teachers of all kinds for retreats and classes. You can design your own retreat or just come work on projects.
